Roles: Owner, Administrator, Editor and Reader
Each collaborator has a role that defines their starting permissions — whether they're your wedding planner, an assistant on your team, a vendor, or the client themselves. You can customize permissions further, except for Administrators, whose access is always full.
The four access levels
Owner — The person who created the event. That could be a couple organizing their celebration, a mom planning a quinceañera, or an event planner managing a client's event. Full access to everything, including deleting the invitation. Only one owner per event.
Administrator — Can do almost everything the owner can: invite other people, edit all sections, and manage collaborators. Their permissions cannot be customized — they always have full access.
Editor — Can help set up the event: edit the invitation, guest list, tables, budget, floor plan, and more. By default they cannot invite or edit other collaborators, but you can grant that if needed.
Reader — Can only view what you allow. No create, edit, or delete permissions. Ideal for someone who needs to check information without changing anything.

If you're an event planner
When you create an event for a client, you're the Owner — you control the team. A typical setup: you as Owner, your lead assistant as Administrator, junior staff as Editors with tailored permissions, and the client as Reader so they can preview progress without changing anything.
When a client creates their own event and invites you, you'll join as Administrator or Editor depending on what they choose. They stay Owner and can adjust your access anytime.
Planners who manage many events benefit most from granular permissions: the same assistant can have full access on one event and view-only on another.
What happens when you change the role?
When you pick a different role while inviting or editing a collaborator, the suggested permissions reset to match that role's defaults.
You can then open the permissions checklist and adjust section by section before saving.
If you upgrade someone from Reader to Editor, they'll get broader default access — review the list to make sure it matches what you want.
