Why make a digital invitation?
Digital invitations — also known as virtual invitation cards — have become the go-to choice for modern events. They are faster to make, easier to share, and far more affordable than printed invitations — often completely free.
Whether you are planning a wedding, birthday, quinceañera, baptism or graduation, making a digital invitation lets you include interactive features like maps, photo galleries, music, gift registries and RSVP — all in one link your guests can open from any device.
How to make digital invitations in 6 steps
Step 1: Click 'Create invitation'
Go to invitio.events and click Create invitation. No sign-up needed — just enter your event details and start making your invitation right away.
Step 2: Choose a template
Browse templates designed for your event type: weddings, birthdays, baptisms, first communions, quinceañeras, graduations and more. Pick the style that fits your celebration.
Step 3: Customize your design
Customize photos, colors, fonts and text. Add map blocks, countdowns, photo galleries, itineraries, gift registries and music to make a unique invitation card.
Step 4: Save and share
Save your invitation and share it with guests via WhatsApp, email or a direct link. Guests can view it on their phone or computer and RSVP instantly.
Step 5: Go further with Premium (optional)
The free plan includes all core features. For larger events, Premium raises the limits: more guests, more photos, no watermark and advanced seating tools.
How to customize your digital invitation
This is where your invitation comes to life. Invitio's editor works with blocks — add, remove and reorder sections based on what your event needs.
On the cover you can upload a background image, choose colors and adjust the typography so the design feels yours from the very first screen. From there, you can enrich your invitation with additional blocks: a gallery of up to 10 photos, a live countdown to your event date, an interactive Google Maps embed, a day-of itinerary with times, your gift registry linked from any store, and background music to set the mood.
Use the preview mode before saving — most of your guests will open the invitation on their phone, so it is worth checking that view first.
Essential information to include in your invitation
- Event name and hosts (couple names, birthday person, etc.)
- Date and time of the event
- Venue name and address with map
- Dress code (if applicable)
- Gift registry or gift preferences
How to share your invitation on WhatsApp and other channels
Once your invitation is ready, save it and click 'Send' button. Invitio gives you several ways to reach your guests:
WhatsApp: Send directly to contacts — the most popular way to share invitation cards in Latin America. Direct link: Copy and paste your invitation URL into social media, email or a text message.
Your guests receive a beautiful, mobile-optimized invitation they can open instantly. They can RSVP with a tap, view the map, browse photos and add the event to their calendar.
